Please watch the video below for details on our 15th Memorial Day Ceremony.
The Veterans Memorial plaque at the Fair Oaks Cemetery was made possible through donations from area residents and organizations, businesses and individuals.
In
1999, the District began holding elaborate Memorial Day ceremonies on the cemetery
grounds. The first year's event included dedication of a veteran's monument
and flag pole which had been built with the $17,000 in contributions raised
by the District with the help of several local service organizations.
Since its inception, the Memorial Day ceremonies have become a new institution in the community with hundreds of local residents attending the event each year.
Personalized Memorial Flags flown on the Avenue of Flags during Memorial Day and Veterans Day are available for sale at the Cemetery District Office. District staff maintain, place, remove and store the flags at no additional charge. These attractive flags are 4' x 6' and are mounted on 7' aluminum poles. They are an excellent memorial to a fallen hero or loved one.
